The Seven Stages of Culture Transformation
With web links to supporting articles from independent sources attached to each step, here you can follow the seven stages of progression towards sustainable cultural advancement that WorldLine programmes will guide participants through in working with you and your company:
Stage 1: Awareness
Attuning to the cultural environment is a critical cornerstone of continuous improvement. "How do I relate to those around me and understand them better?" That's the first question to be answered.
Stage 2: Reduction
Calming egocentrism and reducing the impact of 'triggers' will enable progress in personal development. You don't want Blame to infect the collective psyche. Instead, restrict the effects of extraneous factors and ease the way for increased accountability.
Stage 3: Prioritisation
Having completed the steps above, we're in a position to establish priorities for improvement. Typically these will be agreed to include: Communication, Morale, Flow (of information), and Recognition (of performance and achievement).
Stage 4: Engagement
Ability to foster and maintain a positive flow of exchange springs from priorities being identified by all concerned. Interaction becomes more confident, faith in others is restored and recognition of worth finds a place, high above criticism and accusation.
From here, we can create the long-term strategy that leads to sustainable excellence.
Stage 5: Alignment
Communication now centres on higher levels of achievement, replacing tendencies to 'harp on about issues', seed scuttlebutt and hide important information. Appreciation of Self, Others, Change, and Responsibility provides new opportunities for company-wide advancement as people realise their potential through experience.
Stage 6: Innovation
With the power of alignment and a demonstrable willingness to accept Change and Responsibility positively, innovation automatically becomes part of the process.
New protocols and methods of improvement find traction as staff elect to involve themselves in best-practice techniques, visibly welcoming renewed autonomy.
Stage 7: Continuous Improvement
C.I., at its basic foundation, means guarding successfully against internal damage and inertia by recognising destructive habits and avoiding them. Pressures to fall into expensive, unproductive modes are countered by an engaged mind set, with new methodologies and innovative improvements given traction by virtue of a positive approach to the workplace. Excellence comes to the fore - nobody wants to go back... Results speak for (and have a habit of maintaining) themselves!
In the quest for excellence, there is no substitute for engagement. Sustainable alignment depends on it. When will you find time to implement your engagement strategy?
Here is the cost to your company so far, bearing in mind that costs continually rise!
